Shoot and Share 2018

2018 was my fourth year entering the annual Shoot and Share Contest. I throughly enjoy the Shoot and Share contest because it's unbiased and anonymous, (unless, of course, you've seen the photos before). I can send the link to friends and family because anyone can vote! And it gets pretty addicting.

Finalist badges are given to the Top 3.5% of the entire contest. That includes all the photos entered! Top 30%, 20%, and 10% are given for each category, such as engagements, portraits, family, etc.

This is an annual, world-wide photo contest. In 2018, 412,379 photos were submitted, and over 75 MILLION votes were cast by 124,894 people from 130 different countries! 24 of JayCee Photography's photos received badges in 2018.

Brianna + Brett • Snowy Mountain Bridals

Brianna came to me knowing she wanted mountains for her bridal session. We played around with a couple ideas and then decided on Jackson. I remember driving up with Jacob and being so tense! Thank goodness Jacob had that weekend off because it was such a sketchy drive with the icy roads! It took us about 2 hours to get there and then I quickly scouted for an area for the first look before Brianna and Brett arrived.
Even though it was below freezing, we were able to create some dreamy photos! I love the snow covered mountains combined with the fog. I've always been drawn to fog so I love any chance I can get to shoot in it. Check out Andrew and Jordin's Engagement Session to see another beautiful session with fog featured in!
Brianna and Brett both toughed it out during this chilly session, but I think it was well worth it!

Maddi + Wyatt • Sand Dunes

Within the past month I've had the opportunity to go through my sessions from the last year. I found Maddi and Wyatt's session and realized I never shared this gorgeousness!
This session was pulled together within a week. I was feeling a lack of creativity and I needed to get out of the house and put myself into my work without feeling any pressure. I called Maddi and Wyatt up and we drove to the sand dunes. I had two amazon dresses I had purchased so Maddi wore both during the session. I picked up some pretty little pink florals from Albertson's on my way out of Idaho Falls since I wanted a pop of color.  This happens to be one of my favorite sessions to date because it was for me. I let myself try new things without feeling like I had to please anyone but myself. And the photos turned out amazing! We had great light, and great models.
If you're a photographer and you haven't shot for yourself yet, make sure you do at some point. It's one of the best things you can do!
