Marissa + Josh • Snowy Idaho Engagements

Marissa and Josh met off of the mutual app. I can relate to clients who have met through social media or online dating because me and my husband actually met online! It was over 6 years ago before Tinder was invented so I it’s what I call a “sketchy tinder” back in the day. It worked out for us, so I love seeing it work out for my couples too!

Marissa entered my Giveaway earlier this winter and was the winner! When Marissa won she asked if she could use her session after Josh proposed as engagements, since they weren’t engaged yet. After Josh proposed, we quickly planned their shoot within a week! We headed to one of my favorite spots in Idaho Falls. I love this location because it gives off a forrest vibe, without us having to travel too far or worry about getting stuck in the mountains. These ever green pines always make the perfect backdrop for my adventurous couples. I also pulled out a lens I rarely shoot with for this session and I forget how much I absolutely love it! My favorite images from Marissa and Josh’s session are the one’s with Marissa leaning against the tree. I asked Josh to flirt with Marissa and did he pull through! We also had some of the best weather we’ve had in weeks here! It was a solid 38°F which felt like spring to all of us!

Makenzie + Jonah • Snowy Mountain Bridals

It’s winter. Hot chocolate, crock pot meals, fuzzy socks, and so many movies on Hulu, and of course my personal favorite, cuddling! While I love the spring and summer for the beautiful colors and fast pace lifestyle, I love winter for it’s down time. The time to slow down and enjoy little moments and remember to take time for self care. Also, it’s a great time to have movie marathons! Jacob and I have finished the Fast and Furious series and Harry Potter recently! Is it crazy that I started the Fast and Furious and Jacob started the Harry Potter?

Sometimes I do need to get out of the house though. As a photographer, winters can be great for a back end refresh for the business and time to breathe an catch up. But I personally have to make sure I don’t get any cabin fever and that I do still take time for my creative side. I needed a little creativity after a crazy fall and this shoot did just that! I love being outdoors any chance I can get, and this was right before the temperatures dropped and stayed below freezing for a few weeks. Thank goodness for this gorgeous shoot to keep me sane during my slow season!

Erika + Marcelo • Idaho Mountain Anniversary Session

It is the coolest feeling to have couples traveling from other states to have me photograph their relationships! Erika and Marcelo are from California and came to Idaho for an adventure session up in the mountains! Erika reached out to me about two months ago letting me know her and Marcelo would be doing a road trip through Utah, Idaho, Wyoming Oregon and finishing off in Washington. She asked for snow and the pretty pine trees Idaho has to offer and we definitely got both! Right as we arrived in the mountains, we had a light snow fall which made the photos so dang dreamy! I was so honored to document these two and their adventures in Idaho. We had fun wandering through three feet of snow to get to the best spots. And these two were troopers! It was about 35 degrees which is pretty awesome for me, being used to the cold. And these Californians acted like it was no big deal! Neither of them complained once about how chilly it was and I knew it had to be so cold for them! The snow was so deep too and we kept falling through as we walked around. I absolutely loved Erika’s outfit! The red popped so well with the white snow and ever green trees. Everything was just so perfect. Thank you Erika and Marcelo for traveling to Idaho for your adventure session!
