Idaho Falls • Anniversary Session

Lauryn and Tanner came up to Idaho two weekends ago and actually stayed the night at our house in Rigby. We had a blast getting to know Tanner. Lauryn is Jacob, my husband’s, cousin. So now she’s basically my cousin. Lauryn and Tanner got married last fall and I got to document their engagements in Rigby! But so it was fun getting to know the two of them together even better. We sat up talking until midnight the night before their morning session! We didn’t even pull out the board games like I usually do with company because we got so caught up talking!

The roads were horrible Saturday morning. The snow was blowing everywhere, but we decide to get out and do it anyway. We went to this magical forest I’m obsessed with in Idaho Falls. We were all kind of nervous about the snow but I think the snow definitely added to the photos.

Lauryn and Tanner‘s anniversary session was such a breeze! I love that Tanner and Lauryn have fun together and don’t take life too seriously. It’s also fun having clients come up to Idaho and taking them to my favorite places. Couldn’t have asked for a better forest to shoot in!

Rexburg Mountain Engagement Session

It’s been insanely busy over here at JayCee Photography! I’m trying my best to catch up on some blogging when I get the chance. Lindsey found me through Instagram just a few weeks ago. When she contacted me, she told me she wanted a little more of that mountain look, but was on a time crunch. We decided on these Rexburg mountains for their engagement session!

I met both Austin and Lindsey at our location. The first thing I noticed was how giddy and happy Austin and Lindsey were to be around each other. Before even lifting up my camera, they were laughing and giggling together. It was so fun seeing that chemistry and love between them in just the first few seconds. We ended the session on a cliff that I love shooting on! And Lindsey and Austin’s outfits totally made the session!

Skatepark Anniversary Session • Rigby, Idaho

I met Jacob way back in 2012 while I was going to college at BYU-Idaho. One of the things that I was super attracted to about him was his “skater” vibe. He dressed a little more on the alternative side which I was totally drawn to! I honestly loved how sweet Jake was (seriously, he is so nice) while still having that look I liked.

So while we were dating we would go to the skate park and I would just sit and relax and watch him skate for an hour or two. That was also when I had just started getting serious about photography so I would take pictures of him here and there skating. Since then, I’ve always wanted to do a couple shoot with a skater couple because I thought it would turn out so cool!

A few nights ago I got on the skateboard for the first time in over five years and tried it again. I’m definitely not good by any means, but I had fun doing it. That’s when it came to me; Why not do photos of me and Jake playing the part? Okay, so I actually never dress like this anymore, but I did have everything in my closet, so maybe I do. Anyways, I grabbed my husband and brother in law (who also skates) and set up some settings and had him take a couple photos of me and Jake. I envisioned a more serious approach which was so difficult because it’s hard to be serious around Jake. But we did our best and I love how it turned out in the 5 minutes we shot! Thanks again to my brother in law, Caleb, who also took all these shots! He killed it!
